Yurt Holidays Wales, Luxury Breaks UK, Self Catering Wales

Welcome to The Llethrau, a Forest retreat offering Holiday Cottages, Shepherds Huts, and Yurt Holidays Wales.  A hidden forest retreat nestled in the rolling hills of the Welsh borders. Right on the border of Powys and Shropshire.  A place to get away from it all, unwind and relax far away from the stresses and strains of modern life.

It is a smallholding dating back to at least 1706.  There are 4 acres of wild gardens and 20 acres of woodland with paths and walks to be explored throughout the Forest Retreat Venue Wales.

The private Valley is a secret gem, situated in the beautiful Welsh hills with a river running through. You’ll find a connected and vibrant Rural Retreat for Solo Holidays, Couple Getaways and Family Holidays which will enable you to come together and enjoy some time with each other. Our venue also offers self-catering facilities for Groups, Courses and large Family Gatherings.

We have three beautiful self-catering Holiday Cottages, three uniquely styled Shepherds Huts and two Yurts that are elevated on 24ft decking and situated amongst the forest & trees. We have also recently completed work on a central Conference Facility complete with toilets and showers, a substantial self-catering Galley Kitchen and a large group room which allows The Llethrau to be a unique venue for Private Events, Courses, or Social and Family Gatherings. Our venue can comfortably sleep 28 and sit 30 in the Main Hall.

The Forest Retreat Site is surrounded by beautiful and dramatic Welsh countryside and its rural life. Just out the back door lies Kilfiesty Hill: a 1400ft peak with 360 degree views all the way to Snowdonia and 2000 acres of wild moorland for walking holidays. We are a dog & family friendly location.

Slightly further afield guests can enjoy ‘border’ life. With its many markets, towns, restaurants, pubs and villages. We are near Newtown, Knighton, Ludlow, Presteigne, Hay-on-wye, Leominster, Hereford and Shrewsbury. Only a few hours from Cardiff, Birmingham and Bristol.

Offa’s Dyke is a 20-minute drive, the Elan Valley is about an hour away, and the Beacon Beacons with beautiful walks, waterfalls and trails is around a 1hr 20min drive away. The coast and Snowdonia are respectively 1h 20min and 2hrs away. The area is one of outstanding natural and cultural beauty – it is often overlooked and hence off the beaten track.

Whether you’re looking for a short break to get away and re-charge the batteries, a romantic getaway, or somewhere for a family holiday, we hope you find us to be the perfect setting in this beautiful region. Alternatively, The Llethrau is a uniquely sized and affordable venue at which to run your own Exclusive Event, Course or Private Function.

We want to reassure all our guests that we are making the Llethrau as safe as possible. All our accommodation is deep cleaned with high standard products before and after your stay. We also provide hand sanitiser, antibacterial soap and antibacterial spray in each of the properties available for guests to use. Our laundry is laundered by a local company to an extremely high standard and our cleaners are provided with gloves and facemasks also ensuring that infection is not transmitted from one holiday maker to the next.  A perfect place to relax, unwind and re-connect!
