Sunday 1st July, Bishop’s Castle Carnival. Traditional town carnival with parade of steam engines, vintage cars and floats.

Friday 6th & Saturday 7th July, Bishop’s Castle Real Ale Trail. Live music and chance to sample the great variety of local beers and ciders.

Saturday 7th July, Shropshire Hills Hay Meadow Festival, The Bog, Pennerley. A fun filled family day to celebrate traditional hay meadows. Have a go at scything, hay-bale lobbing, guided walks, music and children’s crafts.

Sunday 8th July, Ludlow Green Festival in Castle Square. Celebrating all things ‘green’. Eco-friendly stalls, food, music, kid’s activities and much more.

Sunday 8th July, The British Stone Skimming Championship, Walcot Hall. Take part in various stone related events or just watch the fun! 12noon – 5pm, bring a picnic.

28th July – 5th August, Clun Carnival. Art & Craft Exhibition all week. Saturday 4th is Show Day with procession, crowning of the Carnival Queen, stalls and family entertainment.

Thursday 6th – Friday 7th September, Courtroom Drama, Bishop’s Castle Town Hall, 10am – 4pm. Drop in to the 18th century Council Chamber to join onlookers for a true-life courtroom drama.

Friday 7th – Sunday 9th September, Ludlow Food & Drink Festival. Inside Ludlow Castle with over 180 local food and drink producers and suppliers: real food, ale, cider, perry, wine and more from the Marches, with samples and tastings.

10th – 16th September, Wellington Walking Festival. Favourite walks plus some new ventures.

Saturday 8th September, Newcastle on Clun Village Show. Traditional village show with stalls, crafts and competitions on the green and in the village hall.

Saturday 22nd September, Michaelmas Fair, Bishop’s Castle. Steam engines, theatre, music, street performers and funfair. Evening lantern procession, Samba Band and Fire Show. A day full of colour, dancing, steam, music and entertainment (see video here)
