About Cowboy – Sleeps 2 with a pull out single suitable for a child

Our most recent Shepherds Hut has a Cowboy and Western feel. The whole Shepherds Hut is clad with larch, and tucked up in the forest with a large larch decking in front of it, where guests can sit out, eat, and enjoy a BBQ. We think it’s a real luxury escape and unique home stay.

Inside the Shepherds Hut there is an antique oak floor and the entire hut is clad with reclaimed timber. A large fitted king bed with a pull-out single comprises the sleeping area for your ultimate glamping experience so a family of 3 can enjoy a family holiday along with a dog if they so wish.

There is a kitchen with microwave oven, sink, hob, and fridge; as well as all the cooking equipment you’ll need plus a small pull down table to eat at. The whole space is heated by an electric heater and a rustic wood-burner. An idyllic forest holiday and rural retreat.

The bathroom has a fitted bath with hand held shower and views out to the fields – and a gorgeous copper sink set in a rustic piece of oak, heated towel rail and bathroom facilities. Soak in the bath where you can relax and watch the sheep pass by out of the window. It’s a gorgeous and quirky Shepherds Hut to enjoy some time out!

There’s Wi-Fi available in the on-site internet café only. The local shop and pub serving food just over 4 miles away.

Perfect if your looking for weekends away, mid week breaks in a rural setting or a week long countryside holiday – Book your romantic getaway or secret escape book now!

Mini breaks! Christmas breaks, New Year getaways and summer holiday now available!

The perfect get away from everything. The hut is cosy and welcoming, if you want quality time with the one you love it’s perfect. No phone signal, no-internet, no TV just time to talk read and laugh. The cabin is small and bijou. The quaint touches make this a special place.

Our visit was in January with the added pleasure of snow, which made the location extremely picturesque; although it is so without the snow. The indoor toilet, fire, fridge, essential kitchen amenities, and extra heater if needed made it a comfortable stay. The added luxury of a heated towel rail, themed cabin, bath with a view, and extremely comfortable bed makes it unique. In particular, the stars look great at night, and the surrounding landscape with streams are fantastic. We took our dog who loved the gardens and surrounding area as much as we did. Rodey, the resident dog, was also a pleasure to play with and very friendly and patient with our Jack Russell. Tom is a great host, very attentive and allows you your space; we were greeted instantly on arrival, assured regarding weather conditions, and there are also local guides and a well thought out information file in the cabin. Directions are easy to follow, even in harsher weather conditions. Needless to say; we would and hopefully will book again shortly.

A great place to unwind, such a tranquil place. Tomas is great host anything you need just ask him, he even helped us down the small snowy road with Landover when we left.

In few words- just perfect and amazing. If you looking to run away from city or busy life, here is just perfect. We traveling a lot and always looking for unusual but interesting places, up here is just perfect; from the location, house itself and hosts. If I would need to add something for the host- I would say just thank you for creating such a lovely place to stay.

From the minute we arrived we felt like the hospitality, facilities and the shepherds hut itself couldn't have been more perfect and we still felt like that when we left. Every little thing has been thought of and we wanted for nothing, we were so pleasantly surprised by everything this gem of a retreat had to offer and will be booking again without a doubt. The weather was cold and a bit wet but this did not dampen our stay, after a walk along the river we set then warmed up by the fire. And it really is those simple little pleasures we don't ever get time to stop and enjoy in our normal hectic lives and I know the same applies for many. It was so clean and well presented with some very clever quirks in the design and build. Tom was very helpful and informative regarding the walks we could do, he was everything a good host should be - there when you want him and not when you don't! The peace and tranquillity is flowing through your veins after only one night, so stop checking the reviews and make a booking to enjoy for yourself ;-)

From the moment you arrive until you leave, the experience at Tomas’s Cowboy Hut, and I imagine any of his getaways, was all about relaxation and escapism. It has everything that you need and due to the simplicity of the experience actually more than you can imagine. We will return again and again. Thank you.
